My Story

We're taking on the Route to Research virtual challenge, on behalf of Brain Tumour Research!

We're walking in loving memory of my son, Chevy, who we sadly lost to a brain tumour in April 2024. Right up to the end, Chevy was the most positive and courageous person I've ever known. He had a wonderful passion for life, especially for capturing the beauty of nature and buildings through his photography. He was a truly remarkable young man who took care of himself, was always active, and touched everyone he met with his genuine, warm, and caring smile. Even during his illness, Chevy held onto hope that a cure would be found, not just for himself, but for all those affected by this devastating disease.

Along with other supporters, we've committed to covering 676 miles throughout the months of May, June and July, representing the distance between the Charity's Research Centres of Excellence, where scientists are working tirelessly to find a cure for brain tumours.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet, to date, just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this by campaigning to increase the national investment in research into brain tumours, while also fundraising to sustain the incredible research taking place in its Centres of Excellence across the UK.

Please help fund the fight by sponsoring me on my virtual journey. Together we will find a cure.

Your commitment to this cause, in honour of Chevy's memory and his hope for a cure, is truly commendable.
